The assignment

A policy discussion is only as useful as the number of people who understand it.

HistoriaComms provided media and visibility support for the National Validation Workshop on Somalia’s Regional Integration Strategy, hosted by the Office of the Prime Minister in Mogadishu from 11–13 August 2026.

The workshop brought together senior government officials and the Regional Integration Strategy (RIS) Technical Team to review the draft strategy and discuss its eight strategic pillars. Participants considered how economic and connectivity corridors could strengthen Somalia’s links with the region, as well as the institutional coordination needed to move the strategy toward implementation.

HistoriaComms supported social media coverage and media outreach throughout the workshop, helping communicate its purpose and key discussions to audiences beyond the venue. We also facilitated a BBC Somali interview with the RIS Team Leader, providing an opportunity to explain the strategy and its significance to the wider public.

Through this work, HistoriaComms helped make a complex policy discussion more accessible, while giving the Office of the Prime Minister’s regional integration agenda clear and professional public visibility.
